IT WAS A EXCELLENT TURNOUT FOR THE CLUBS FIRST RELIABILITY RIDE OF THE YEAR LAST SUNDAY

A largish bunch of faster rider’s headed off first, out of which a group of five including club captain Matt L and second claim member Chris Q broke away to complete the full fifty mile circuit at a awesome average speed of 21 mph.

A steady group also tackled the fifty mile version, plus another group doing the shorter circuit without the Bollington loop, still a formidable route.

There must have been about twenty in the steady group that huffed and puffed up “The Beast” (Beeston Brow) and regrouped at the top. As normally happens as the ride went on it split into smaller groups going at their own pace. Your correspondent stayed with the leading group until Pexhill (where else), letting the youngster’s; Woody, Fozzy, Thorpeado senior, Christian S and James R get away for the last few miles.
