Just a Ride Report

Seven set off together and somehow made it back to Macc.

A special welcome back to Rachel and Simon for joining us, together with regulars Alison, Mark H, Nigel and Gary. Setting off on a windy evening towards Marton and Goostrey all went well until an invisible thorn struck. Simon battled with the unwilling tyre, whilst the rest of us offered support and encouragement (kind of). Eventually we were back on the road through Goostrey when the two - un-named up front decided to lead us astray towards Withington Green iso the original route. Strangely, though, we bumped into the 10-2-7 who had also diverted from their original route, heading back towards Pexhill.

Those two sped off in a blaze of rear lights, whilst the rest of us stayed together expecting to pick them up as they were spat out the back or regroup in the pub. We found one waiting at the top of Pehxill, the other was nowhere to be seen, having lasted only a short while then deciding to go back to the original route back up Fanshawe, making her way to join us in the pub.

I do believe we were present in the pub at 20:51 according to my phone records, having ridden 25 miles and just 850ft elevation, at just under 13mph average. How did we manage before technology?

Next JAR next Thursday, as usual 6:30pm
