Last Steady Training Ride Of The Winter Season

Weather conditions were perfect for last Thursday evenings steady training ride.

But we all know  the condition of the road surfaces in Cheshire East is not so perfect and it was Bartosz who got a pinch puncture as we turned into Goostrey lane, disrupting our slick chain gang. He quickly put a new tube in and we were soon cracking on again with a bit more concentration required as it was now fully dark and one repair is enough for one night.

All the group worked well together but I have to admit Mark and myself missed a couple of turns on Peover mountain. I don't know what Mark’s excuse was but mine was climbing 5,000 feet of accumulated mountain the day before 😤. For the same reason yours truly couldn’t hang on long going back up Pexhill so I don't know how it ended up. When the elastic broke Fozzy was doing a massive turn on the front followed keenly by Bartosz  then Steve, those three definitely shared the podium places and if I was a betting man I’d guess the order was reversed by Broken X 🤷 ???. Chris had also burnt all his matches by Pexhill but to be fair to him he had worked harder in the last few miles than myself or Mark.

So there was six of us out, does that number mean anything ? 🤔. The good news is next week most of the ride will be in daylight and  unlike this time last year we are not restricted to that number so come on let’s have a few more. If you can ride solo or in a social group at about 15mph you can manage 16mph + in a well disciplined group. If your lacking experience or confidence but want to improve don’t worry we have experienced regular’s who will show you the ropes. That's what's ride is for.
