Just a Ride

Five riders (Alison, Nigel, Richard, James and myself) met up at the Cenotaph and after a brief chat we decided to try the route I had loaded onto my shiny new Garmin.

We headed south-east up to The Leather's Smithy where Alison opted to leave us. From there it was onwards to the now defunct Hanging Gate, through Danebridge and down past Heaton House Farm where our troop of 'MAMILs' briefly interrupted a post-nuptial wedding photo shoot.

Timbersbrook was next before returning via North Rode and Gawsworth.

We reached The Park Tavern at about 8.30 having completed 27 miles and 1900 feet of climbing.... Just a Ride.

 Unfortunately the excitement of my new Garmin meant I forgot to take the obligatory team portrait so I knocked up this quick sketch on the back of a fag packet..
