Lark Ride to Tideswell

How good it was to be back on this ride after my five-week sabbatical.

Actually it was supposed to be a six-week sabbatical but I just couldn’t keep away so I cut my holiday short to ride with the Larks.

And how good it was to joining the ride as a punter instead of as a ride leader for a change. Many thanks to Simon for devising and leading a fabulous route, which introduced me to some lanes around Tideswell that I’d never visited before. He even took the trouble to amend the route afterwards to delete the intriguing off-road track leading off Blackwell Dale at about mile 33.75, which he sensibly declined to let me have a crack at (perhaps after witnessing my bike handling skills).

My average speed - 12.3 mph. Loved it.
