Wednesday Club Run to Bagnall

Here’s the route I planned, although next time I might omit the off-road Bailey’s Bank at mile 17. I also mutinied myself against the final return leg loop out to Marton, not getting home anyway until about 4.15 (average speed 11.5 mph).

We had an initial stop-off at my house to raid our first-aid kit after Dave had taken a low speed tumble in South Park, even before the ride had started. After this and a small mechanical and a perhaps ambitious 30-mile leg to the cafe we didn’t get there until after 1.00 pm to find it heaving (including with Greg, Sue, Denise and Carol) and we waited yonks for our food (maybe we might start this ride as little earlier during the summer to avoid this? Full consultation process to follow on the ride next week, just kicking the tyres here). So it was 2.15 before we started out for home again.

Nine of us: Raph, Bennet, Ant, Oliver, Dave H1, Dave H2 Ali, me and A Rider Who Must Remain Anonymous as his wife thought he was at work.

Seen at mile 22, these guys were doing LEJOG. They had built each bike by welding three frames together. Now I have seen everything.

And yes, they are heading for Mow Cop.

None of us could work out what happens when they get to a junction.
