Wednesday Club Run to Audlem

Well I was well tired after this 67-mile jaunt to The Old Priest House in Audlem.

No old priest available, but thankfully his staff did us proud with almost more baked beans than even I wanted, with soya milk and vegan margarine just about the icing on my non-dairy cake, so to speak.

Blasted home at top speed for an afternoon appointment with specialists from my Bionic Rebuild Team, charged with re-engineering this pensioner into a realistic contender on the Col de Woodbrook in the club’s forthcoming Barry Hyde Circuit of the Edge (Sunday 17 Feb, don’t miss it). Unfortunately, I was told by my sports psychiatrist, Dr Upandatem, the team can only work with the materials they are given. A man of little faith!

My average speed - Cateye bike computer 14.8 mph, Garmin 15.0 mph. Make of that difference what you will. How good it was to be back on a bike; I’ve had cabin fever.

Dave, Pete, Mike, Dave, Mike. Off pic: Dave, ‘that’s enough Daves!‘ - Ed, and welcome to the Wheelers to Amanda.
