Social Xmas ride and lunch

A great time was had by all on a testing hilly Saturday (yes I know it’s Sunday) Social ride followed by a well earned Xmas lunch at the Sutton Hall.

14 riders set out, and it wasn't long before the 1st enforced stop, to sort out Lynda’s rather dramatic loud puncture. We were glad of the breather however, and that was only the 1st incline. Onwards and upwards then past the Hanging Gate and over to Wildboarclough with the 1st testing downhill section on Nabbs Rd.

A glorious ride then along the valley and up to Standing Stone, down to Trentabank, where a splinter group of 4 (Rachel, Lynda, Simon, Mark H) went back up to the Hanging Gate and down Meg Lane and beat the others (Gail, Julie, Sue, Susannah, Kirsten, Brian, Phil, Jill, Mark W and son Tom who took the flat route back to Sutton Hall. 2 further diners, Kim and Mark G then joined us after their endeavours at the Stockport 10 road race and much fun was had by all along with a delicious Xmas lunch.

Rachel.
