Sunday Easy Ride to Grasslands

There were 15 of us out on today's easy ride from Wilmslow to Grasslands, including Yvette, on her first Sunday outing- welcome!

We split into two groups, I led a small but perfectly formed group on a shorter route, whilst John J led the rest on a longer route, with Jim as his back marker. After 16 miles leading Becky and Gawsworth John into a fierce headwind I was very glad to get to the cafe, which was full of Stretford Wheelers and other clubs. We had just got to the front of the queue when Mark H, Phil B and Yvette arrived, a couple of minutes ahead of the rest. Simon G joined us for the short route back, which was literally a breeze, 9 miles with a screaming tail wind. My group completed 25 miles at an average speed of 11.4mph, whilst John's group did about 35 miles at a quicker pace.
