6@6 Training Ride on Thursday 10th December

I'am glad it was the maximum number of six in the group last night for the training ride at 6 o clock as it got harder and harder as turns came round on the front.

It was one of those where it started a bit blustery heading down Pexhill and towards the end of the circuit back through Chelford it wasn't so much blustery as we were battling a full on block headwind.

All six worked well together, from Siddington Boothy who called the turns was first on followed by Ant, Rich, Fred, Jochen and Simon. The well disciplined 6up were still in that same order back at Siddington on the return and would have been at the top of Pexhill but for the rhythm being interrupted by my back wheel coming loose at Dark Lane. I know you all thought it was just an excuse to sit up but honest guy’s it was a real emergency, I couldn't’ have made it up there on just one wheel.

Overall times clocked up on the circuit ranged between 1:39:41, 18.4mph, Ant’s and mine 1:41:03, 18.2mph. The wind clocked up a speed of 14.1mph, my windsock say’s from the south east but it simply seemed to me always the opposite direction we wanted to go.

Ride of the night award should be a joint award for the two least experienced 6 uper’s, Simon and Jochen, both rode strongly and slotted in well on a tough night.
