Ride report - JAR 16/7/2020

First Post-Covid 19 Just a Rideproved a success.

Following the re-introduction of club events, Just a Ride was resumed last night following the new Covid19 regulations. Places are limited to six in a group and places have to be booked in advance. Those six places quickly filled up, so rather than turn people away, Alison kindly volunteered to lead a second group meaning we had a maximum capacity of twelve places, of which eight were taken.

So at half past six at The Cenotaph we met and after explaining the new rules we split into two groups of four. Alison’s group followed a 27 mile route through Gawsworth, Marton, Goostrey, Siddington and coming back up Pexhill, and the second group took a hillier 29 mile route up Hollins Lane, Timbersbrook, Astbury, Radnor Bank, and coming back up Fanshawe Lane.

Normally we would have met up at the Park Tavern, but being still closed, we all (including the 10-2-7) settled for a (slow) pint at the newly renovated Flower Pot.

Average speeds for the tow groups 14.6 and 15.2, so both quite respectable efforts.

Many thanks again to Alison for making it possible and let’s keep it going!
