Just a Ride 23rd May 2019

A fab ride for seven of us on a sunny Thursday evening taking in some seldom (i.e. never) ridden (by us) tracks and lanes. After the initial climb out up Hollin Lane to Fourways, descending through Wincle to Danebridge then we headed East to Clough Head. There were a couple of mad cows on the bridleway (actually a gap in the heather across the filed marked the route) before we reached the summit of Roach End, overlooked by Bearstone Rock. The long descent towards Gradback was rudely ended by the sharp right onto the gated road (I say “road” in its loosest possible term) past Knar and Cut-Throat Farm until we rejoined civilisation of sorts in Wildboarclough. Another climb and fast descent through the forest to Langley and home (i.e. The Pub) for refreshments and chit chat with our 10-2-7 chums. Top photos by Alison, thanks to all for coming.
