Remembrance Sunday Easy rides to Mobberley and Dunham

It stayed dry but there was a chilly autumnal feel for the 12 of us out on today's easy rides.

Alison, Sue, Rebecca, John B and Dan set off at 10.00am, heading for Dunham, but arrived in Mobberley just as Rembrance Sunday activities were taking place. They decided that Barnshaw Smithy in Mobberley would be a much better cafe stop, given that they were cold and needed to be back early. They also have some excellent bacon and egg barms!

Jim, Francis, Jack, Damian, Martin and I set off from Wilmslow at 10.30am, and had a trouble free ride, with just a brief stop to reorient 2 other cyclists grappling with Mobberley's maze of lanes. The scenery was beautiful with the autumn colours and we even saw a buzzard.

There was a huge queue at Dunham Barn, and Paul R arrived with impeccable timing, just as we got to the counter, so we were able to include his order with ours. The food came out quickly, the scrambled egg on toast was really, really good.

We took the shorter route back around Bowden, and picked up an Altrincham cyclist, Mike, who really liked our pace, and stayed with us all the way to Wilmslow.
